Shakespeare wrote "What is in a name? If we called a rose by any other, would it not smell as sweet?" This four page folded piece asks what makes an adult an adult, & what does the transition from childhood to adulthood really look like? Do we not keep that which defined us as a child as we become an adult? Must we purge all that we liked as a child to be an adult?

The sparse bit of copper tones show how things from our childhood, once in the foreground recedes to the background. That which we learned never truly leaves us and remains a part of us even as we leave childhood behind. To me, growing up isn't about leaving things we liked as a child behind, but rather incorporating new things into our identity in addition to the memories we hold dear.
