Kyle Schottmuller hails from Minnesota, where every lake is “the lake” and no matter what you plan to do, it will be at the lake.

Kyle’s love of nature is seen in his art through his exploration of what it means to be alive. Genki, Kyle's service dog, accompanies him everywhere and encourages Kyle to spend more time hiking out into the middle of nowhere. He started training as an artist in highschool within a specialized arts program. He spent a year at the Art Institute International of Minneapolis before it closed permanently. He honed his skills independently for 4 years until continuing formal training. Ultimately, He graduated from Normandale Community College with two degrees, an AA with an Arts emphasis and an AFA. During his time at Normandale he worked as an assistant in the 3D art studio and the art gallery. He also was an active member of the Pottery Club, even surviving as an officer and a co-founder of the art club, Arttitude. Kyle is an artist of many mediums. He works with clay, glass, printmaking, sewing, digitally, ink and pastels.
